Announcements / Leadership
« on: November 05, 2016, 12:29:53 PM »
Hey guys/girls,

First of all I want to thank all of you for the amazing past four years we had in this clan/community. We share(d) so much together; games, laughs, sometimes cries, emotions, love... All the friendships that formed over the past time, I'm happy I could be a part in creating and living that.
I'm so proud of having put this together with all of you!

The people who have been here some more recently probably had noticed already I wasn't around too much.
I came around here from time to time, apologizing for my lack of activity as a leader, and then I was gone again after a few laughs and giggles.
Recently I've been thinking of a few things; like quitting amity, giving up the leadership and some other things. Now quitting amity didn't feel like the right thing to do, since we dó have so much activity and friendships around here. Just so I could get rid of my guilt for not being there with you.
So there was the other option left; giving up the leadership.

And that is what I will be doing from today on.
I've consulted with the whole management (and himself ofcourse) and I trapped bubNN into becoming leader in my place.

Now you think yaaaay, finally got rid of that clown; well, partially.
I'll be around as some kind of special advisor to the president, I'll be there when he needs me.

It pains me to leave my position after more than four years here, it really does. But for me it is time to move on.
Got a girlfriend now, and school + internships who take my time, and then there's real life. Once you start enjoying it you don't want to go back!

Be kind to bubNN all of you, or I'll be back and haunt your asses.
And in all seriousness, I believe in Ruben and know he'll make a great leader. You guys are going to be just fine!
Thank you for all the good times!! You guys are the best!

Peace out,

Pieter / Matthijs

Announcements / Promod server!
« on: January 12, 2016, 12:30:40 AM »
Hello everyone,

Since we're continuing with a Call of Duty section, and CoD4 is still a game we all love, we almost unanimously decided to get a CoD4 server again. And, because our roots lie in Promod, it was decided pretty quick that would be the game mode.
Today the server was set up, and, although we might need a few more minor changes, it's all working fine.

The server isn't just ours, we share it with WSG (who host it, kudos to Garrett!!!!), I still have to talk to Garrett about how we're gonna arrange the adminr ights.
I'm working on getting Echelon set up, but until that time we'll have to do with putgroup.

Oh and I almost forgot; the IP. It's too simple not to remember:

Please dó join as much as you can, get the server populated, and make sure we get back into the CoD4 gaming scene where we belong! (this doesn't only count for amity members, but for Trusted members, friends, guest and everyone else aswell.)

Again, thanks a lot to Garrett for hosting this server for us. Let's do this!!

Announcements / New teamspeak
« on: September 14, 2015, 04:18:27 PM »

As some of you might have noticed already we've switched our Teamspeak server to a new host.
We've been advertising for it for quite some time, so we hope no one has any troubles finding the new one.

The only issues now are: the private channel passwords (who are set to "test" at the moment); for a change and rights please contact someone from the management.
The other is the fact Teamspeak will give you a popup with "the identity of the server has changed" when you connect. Just click stay connected and you're okay: it's still in our posession :>

Thanks for understanding.

Announcements / HTTPS
« on: August 11, 2015, 04:14:35 PM »
Hey everyone,

As you might have noticed, since we switched hosts I decided it would be nice to have https for our website.
The only problem at the moment is though, it's not validated. This is because there's links (images, links, whatever) linking to external websites that aren't https.
So can everyone please check his/her avatar, signature and profile for any "http" links and change them to https? Or ask me to upload a picture/signature to the website so you can link that (avatars get auto-resized when you upload them, I fixed that function so no need for external websites for that anymore)

I would be delighted if I got everyone's cooperation on this!

Community applications / [Readme] Joining amity
« on: June 02, 2015, 10:48:40 PM »
Hello future community member,

Nice of you to follow up on the invite and visit our website! We always like new additions to our community. Fresh inputs, new looks on things is never a bad thing.

Before you can actually call yourself a member, the only thing we require from you is to make a (decent) introduction post. Meaning, you'll write a little bit more than just your name and the fact you like it here.
We require atleast the following data to be present in the post:
- Your name (in-game or actual, we prefer both)
- The person who referred you
- Why you'd want to be a part of us

Furthermore any previous experience in games, other communities and such are a nice addition, but not required.
Before accepting you we'll take a look at how you behave within the community, and ask around about how you are in the servers (should that apply to you).
After that someone from the management will give you the rank of member and you'll be officially part of the amity Gaming community.

Maybe a little early, but congratulations and welcome in advance! Enjoy your stay here.

Any questions? PM or E-mail me through one of the links at my profile block.

Announcements / Community change
« on: May 31, 2015, 05:37:35 PM »
Hello everyone,

As members and affiliated persons probably have noticed already, we had some plans about changing the clan; most of all the recruitment procedure but also how we work as a whole.
After some careful consultation of all members and others who had an opinion on it, we've decided to follow through with the following changes:

1. The recruitment process as you know it will be gone. From now on, Full Admins and higher are able to recruit people they know from servers / games they like and trust. Skill doesn't matter; the only thing that matters is that they are nice to other people (and helpful when it's needed). After being asked by an FA+, the person only has to register at our website and make an introduction post to get accepted as member.

2. We're finally letting go of the whole "clan" idea; we're fully turning into a community now. The change in the recruitment process should help with people getting used to this.

3. We're letting go of the games-based idea; all games are welcome to be discussed around the forums, and we encourage people to invite other people to games they like/love. And in turn in those new games we could start recruiting people aswell.

4. We'll keep the Call of Duty server (for now); the admin ranking system will be changed soon, but will stay the same for now. New members to the community won't get admin right away but they can apply for it after they've been accepted. A recruitment team will then see if the person is fit for admin rights. The current admin rights will stay.

5. There will be no more activity obligations; people are free to hang around here, as members aswell as guests, but we won't warn or kick people for inactivity anymore. We understand people are busy living their lives, people are growing up, are getting other priorities, and we respect that. We just hope you'll be around from time to time to share your (game or life-)experiences with us.
This does not regard the management; we expect them to decide with their own common sense what activity level is reasonable.

I will make changes to boards, texts on the website and all that other stuff as soon as possible.

On behalf of the whole amity Gaming management,

amity Gaming Founder.

Announcements / Terminating Softcore server
« on: March 30, 2015, 06:37:33 PM »

As some of you might have noticed already, we decided last week, after an almost unanimous voting, to terminate the Softcore TDM server.
At the moment we're in a little difficult position as the servers aren't really populated anymore, and we are having a hard time already populating just one server since Call of Duty 4 isn't the popular game anymore it once was.

So for now we're just focussing on Promod, at which amity was founded in the beginning, and maybe will expand more actively into other games.
For the people who are still up for a Softcore TDM game, there's the gum TDM#1 server at IP:
Ofcourse, our own promod server will stay up at IP: OR

I hope to see you all in-game so we can revive what once was a really active, fun and hacker-clean promod server!

Announcements / Downtime website
« on: March 28, 2015, 12:43:16 AM »

The website might be down from time to time in the near future, because we're fixing a problem we're experiencing with CloudFlare. The testing might give a CloudFlare error (timeout of the server).
Don't worry about this, I'll try to keep as much up-time as wel can.

Thanks for understanding.

Announcements / We need you!
« on: November 19, 2014, 09:26:27 PM »
Hey loyal players / members!

Since the migration of our servers to a new host the servers have been a little more empty than usual.
For promod the problem is punkbuster still isn't up to date, which means everyone gets kicked out after one or two minutes. So don't try joining that, it won't work :P
For Softcore though, that problem doesn't exist.
We need all of you to join in as much as possible!
There's only one way we're gonna get the server population up again, and that's by populating it ourselves.
So be cool with your admin rights, don't kick too fast, and stay in just a little longer :-)

I really hope we can get back to rank 200 at gametracker, where we belong!

Announcements / Server downtime
« on: November 14, 2014, 01:11:16 PM »

First of all I wanna apologise for the recent server downtime.
The RAID of the dedicated server got f*cked up so we're working on backing everything up at the moment.

I also gotta report we're switching to a new dedicated server host, so servers will be down for some more time.
After that we'll have a new server IP so we'll need to populate everything again.

Thank you for your patience and see you online in a few days!

Announcements / New XLRStats page
« on: July 11, 2014, 09:04:54 PM »
Recently xl8or released a new version of the XLRStats webfront; version 3.
I only found time to do it today, but it's working now.
I'd say just check it out and see for yourself..
There's also a link at the top right of the home page.

I'm still working on getting the server stats to show correctly.

Announcements / Brief downtime
« on: June 05, 2014, 03:38:35 PM »
Apologies for the brief downtime (from the host aswell :P).
They moved my account to another server so I had to change the IP in CloudFlare. I've always paid my bills, so that's not what the "Account suspended" message was for.

Everything's back to normal now, and after this migration I hope the brief downtime periods every few days will be gone aswell.

Cheers :>
